    LeMaire started his career as an office boy in New York in 1913, later becoming casting director for MGM Studios. LeMaire took actress/singer Deanna Durbin to MGM then later took her to Universal Pictures where she became a big hit starring in 20 films for the studio. He also produced a play entitled "LeMaires Affairs," starring Sophie Tucker and Ted Lewis, playing Broadway and Chicago.
