Perennial TV showrunner Steven Bochco (Raising the Bar, NYPD Blue) is dipping his toes into the sci-fi waters, as he has teamed with Entertainment One to produce a new futuristic series entitled Evolution, to be marketed at the Miptv conference (it’s a worldwide TV movers-and-shakers marketplace and convention) next month.

Variety reported the news about the proposed series, which is set 3 million years in the future, and follows a boy who discovers a box that contains the store of human knowledge, bringing him eventual leadership. Entertainment One describes the series as a “tale of perpetual tension and suspense.” The series will be co-written by Bochco and Bryan Law, who will be a supervising producer.

Created and written by Bochco and Bryan Law and to be produced by eOne in association with Steven Bochco Prods, Evolution is set 3 million years in the future where Social Darwinism is born once more.
