Grew up in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he lived one street away from
DJ Jazz Jeff (Jefferey Towns). The name of the production company he
and Will Smith started--Overbrook Entertainment--is named after
Lassiter and Smith's high school, Overbrook HS.
