Netflix Doc ‘American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson’ Features First In-Depth Interview With Christopher Darden
Image
In Netflix’s new docuseries, “American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson,” director Floyd Russ revisits — once again — the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman and the subsequent criminal trial of O.J. Simpson.

It’s been 30 years since the “trial of the century,” but time doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to this double homicide case. The rise and fall of Simpson, a former football star accused of killing Brown and Goldman, is a story that continues to fascinate viewers. Simpson died at age 76 last April.

What more can be said about a case that has spawned countless documentaries, including ESPN’s Oscar-winning docuseries “O.J.: Made in America” as well as the Emmy-winning FX scripted series “The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story”?

Apparently, enough for Netflix to commission a four-parter.

While a good portion of “American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson” rehashes what has already been said in “O.J.: Made in America,...

Court TV Reexamines the O.J. Case in ‘Trial & Error: Why Did O.J. Win?’
Image
It’s been 30 years since the so-called Trial of the Century captivated the world, making household names of Marcia Clark, Johnnie Cochran, and Kato Kaelin. Court TV’s cameras covered the O.J. Simpson double murder trial, and now three decades later the limited series Trial & Error: Why Did O.J. Win? delves behind the scenes of the trial, with archival footage and interviews with key individuals involved in the case.

The seven-part series premieres on February 16, 2025, with new episodes airing on Sundays at 8pm Et/Pt. Attorney, Court TV anchor, and Emmy-award-winning true crime journalist Michael Ayala covered the trial, which kicked off with opening statements on January 24, 1995, and serves as host of the limited series.

“Thirty years have gone by, and the O.J. Simpson trial — which Court TV documented as it unfolded — is still one of the nation’s most consequential cultural touchstones,” stated Ethan Nelson, head of Court TV.

‘The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson’ Bosses on 10-Year Journey to the Docuseries
Image
Though Lifetime first announced the four-part docuseries, The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, on April 12 — one day after O.J. Simpson died from metastatic prostate cancer at the age of 76 — the project has actually been a decade coming, says one of its executive producers, Melissa Moore.

“It’s 10 years in the making,” Moore tells The Hollywood Reporter in the conversation below. “I connected with Denise Brown first over the topic of domestic violence. I’m a survivor of domestic violence myself, and we connected through going to speaking events and galas, raising money. Over this last decade, a friendship and trust started to be built, so much so that I got introduced to the other Brown sisters, Dominique and Tanya, and then in 2016, they introduced me to the Simpson children, and that trust then continued on with my relationship with Brie and Jesse,” Moore says of her co-executive producers,...

‘Bosch’ Creator Michael Connelly Sets Wonderland Murders Podcast At Audible
Image
Exclusive: Michael Connelly, the author of Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer, is moving into the world of podcasting.

Connelly is behind a new documentary podcast series that will take a deep dive into the the Wonderland Murders.

Connelly has created and written the series and will exec produce alongside LAPD homicide veteran Rick Jackson, Jen Casey (Back from the Brink) and and Nick Gilhool (Slugfest).

Named for the street in Laurel Canyon where the murders took place inside the house of a small-time drug gang, it’s a gruesome crime that reflected its time, disrupted a mythology and tells a broader story of Los Angeles, the American dream machine, and when justice does – and doesn’t – work. O.J. Simpson in Y a-t-il un flic pour sauver la reine ? (1988)
(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Tuesday’s episode of “The People vs. O.J. Simpson”) About halfway into tonight’s episode of “The People vs. O.J. Simpson,” Marcia Clark turns away from the white Bronco chase on television and asks a very good question. “How is O.J. back in his white Bronco?” the prosecutor, played by Sarah Paulson, asks. “I mean, the Bronco was full of blood. We impounded it. How could he be driving it again?” “Believe it or not, there are two white Broncos,” Det. Tom Lange (played by Chris Bauer) replies.
