John Francis Lane(1928-2018)

A British writer who has been based in Rome for most of his life, Lane has been a small-part actor in many Italian films and has contributed to many British newspapers and magazines. He was for many years the Rome correspondent for "Films And Filming" magazine.

[in 1963]: Roberto Rossellini keeps announcing that he will make no more films. Some people get ready to celebrate. The French nouvelle vague get out their mourning whilst their leader, Truffaut, rushes to Rome to convince the master not to abandon them; and Rossellini says, "Well, just one more."
