As the show closed out its 12th season on Sunday night, Hallmark Channel announced that it has renewed “When Calls the Heart” for a record 13th season.

Season 13 is set to premiere in 2026 on Hallmark Channel and will be available to stream the next day on Hallmark+, the streaming home for all past and future episodes of the series.

Today, Angel Studios announced their series, Home to Harmony, will begin production in 2025.

The series, which stars Erin Krakow, is one of a number of a TV series to land an interim agreement from the actors guild following similar arrangements for Apple’s Tehran and faith-based series The Chosen.

The move will allow Season 11 of the series to film ahead of the premiere of Season 10 on July 30.

Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart kicked off its eighth season Sunday night with a bang. The Season 8 premiere averaged three million Total Viewers and 397,000 Women 25-54 in Live+3, making it the most-watched original scripted series on ad-supported cable in the year-to-date among Total Viewers and Women 18+, accoording to Nielsen.

The Season 8 premiere episode also was the No. 1 most-watched entertainment cable program of the week among Women 18+, according to Nielsen. The episode drew a .19 rating in the 18-49 demo, and 2.1 million viewers.

Hallmark Channel may have cut ties with Lori Loughlin but they aren’t giving up on “When Calls the Heart.”

According to the show’s producers, the Western drama has not been canceled but is undergoing “retooling” after Loughlin — a series regular — was fired by Hallmark Channel last week following her arrest in the ongoing college admissions bribery scandal.

The Hallmark Channel has confirmed that its series When Calls The Heart is not being canceled, despite the parent company’s firing of key player Lori Loughlin for her alleged role in a college bribery scandal.

In an Instagram post sent Friday on its official account, the channel assured fans the series isn’t going away, despite being placed on hiatus in the wake of Loughlin’s legal troubles. “Hope Valley has many more stories left to share and we will let you know the details soon,” the post said.

Hallmark parent Crown Media earlier said it was no longer working with Loughlin and “have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin, including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”

Hallmark Channel pink-slipped Lori Loughlin and pulled the plug on Garage Sales Mysteries earlier today, and now the Crown Media-owned outlet is putting the actor’s other series When Calls the Heart on ice, for a bit.

The March 17 primetime episode of the western drama has been taken off the schedule by Hallmark as producers try to come up with “creative solutions” for Loughlin’s Abigail Station character. While the actress who is indicted in the elite college bribery scheme is fired from the show, the series developed by Michael Landon Jr. based on Janette Oake’s books is absolutely not canceled, I hear.

However, all options are being explored on how to take the already-filmed episodes of Heart forward without Loughlin, one source says.

The impetus to keep Heart going makes absolute sense when you consider that last week’s Season 6 debut of the small-town drama was the highest-rated premiere in the series’ history.

Chris McNally (Supernatural) and Kevin McGarry (Heartland) have joined the cast of Hallmark Channel’s drama series, When Calls the Heart for the upcoming sixth season.

McNally will play Lucas Bouchard, a charming gambler and saloon owner who is hiding more than a card up his sleeve. McGarry is Nathan Grant, the epitome of the strong, silent type and takes all his responsibilities to heart as the new Mountie in town.

Based on the book by Janette Oke, When Calls the Heart centers on Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young woman from a wealthy family, who moves to the small town of Hope Valley to be the new teacher. There, she is welcomed by the townsfolk. When she meets the local Mounted Police Officer, Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing), she begins to fall in love, not only with him, but with her new lifestyle.

Having never read the Velveteen Rabbit story this adaptation is based on, or seen any other film or television version, I was somewhat interested to see what all the fuss was about; obviously this is a story well worth adapting as it is done so frequently. In this version, a young boy (Matthew Harbour) is left to his own devices in his strict grandmother’s (Jane Seymour) house and retreats into a fantasy world of his own creation, populated by animated toys long forgotten by their previous owners, including the titular rabbit.

This blend of live-action and animation seemed promising to me at first, being a huge fan of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but unfortunately The Velveteen Rabbit doesn’t possess nearly...

Brian S- First off you've really been cranking out film projects since 2007. How'd you get into acting?

Bill Oberst Jr.- I was a bizarre-looking kid who loved monsters and the other kids made fun of me. I learned a useful equation: "If You Entertain People, They Will Not Hit You." So my whole career has pretty much been about trying to get people not to hit me.

It's a terrible weekend for movie fans, as the only two new wide releases are a Jonas Brothers concert movie and a film based on the Street Fighter video games. So basically, if you're not a 13-year-old girl or an 18-year-old guy (or whoever the target audience is for a Street Fighter movie), you're hosed -- unless you venture to the art houses and independent theaters, where you'll find some diversity.
