Academy Award®-nominated producer Vincent Landay is renowned for enjoying one of Hollywood's most groundbreaking creative partnerships, his successful two decade collaboration with director Spike Jonze. Their relationship bore fruit at its inception resulting in music videos for artists such as Björk, Kanye West & Jay Z, REM, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs along with commercials for Nike, Adidas, Levi's, and Apple that have led to numerous awards, including the Grammys, the Emmys, MTV and the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival.
Their acclaimed films, Her (2013), Dans la peau de John Malkovich (1999), Adaptation. (2002), and Max et les Maximonstres (2009), have received a combined twelve Oscar nominations and have also been recognized with awards by the Golden Globes, the Producers Guild of America, BAFTA, the American Film Institute, and the Independent Spirit Awards. Landay is also a three-time Producer's Guild nominee for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures and a four-time Golden Globe nominee.
Landay produced the HBO documentary Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait of Maurice Sendak (2009) as well as the acclaimed Directors Label DVD Series that featured the short-form collections: The Work of Director Spike Jonze (2003), The Work of Director Chris Cunningham (2003) & The Work of Director Michel Gondry (2003). The short films that he produced have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, South By Southwest (SXSW), the Berlin International Film Festival and include I'm Here (2010), a 30-minute robot love story starring Andrew Garfield, and Scenes from the Suburbs (2011), a collaboration between Jonze & Arcade Fire.
Venturing into the world of virtual reality Landay created content for Google and Facebook, including a collaboration with renowned filmmaker Terrence Malick.
Landay was instrumental in the co-creation of VICE Studios, resulting in three Sundance Film Festival premieres for their inaugural slate of feature films. Following its debut, The Report (2019), Scott Z. Burns' critically acclaimed film starring Adam Driver, Jon Hamm & Annette Bening, was acquired by Amazon Studios.
Over the course of his career, Landay has creatively partnered with directors David Fincher, David Lynch, Harmony Korine, John Dahl, Michael Bay, Rick Famuyiwa, Roman Coppola, and Todd Field, among others. He produced the Golden Globe-nominated musical drama Music (2021) (Best Picture, Best Actress), the feature directorial debut of multi-platinum recording artist Sia, starring Kate Hudson & Leslie Odom Jr.
Most recently, Landay served as Executive Producer on season 5 of Noah Hawley's Emmy Award-winning series Fargo (2014), starring Juno Temple, Jon Hamm & Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Landay is a longstanding member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, the Directors Guild of America, the Producers Guild of America, Film Independent, and the Television Academy.
