  • Trivia
Creator of long-running English soap-opera Emmerdale Farm (1972).
  • Quotes
[on creating Emmerdale Farm (1972)] I was asked to write a serial that would make people in the towns envy a particular kind of lifestyle and that's what I tried to do. I started with a Mother Earth figure - Annie Sugden - and built up from there. I also aimed to go for full-rounded characters - nobody wholly bad or wholly good.
