Artists have done some crazy things over the years. From Tracey Emin's disheveled bedroom setup to Shia Labeouf's 'I Am Not Famous Anymore' routine, it is really fascinating to see what stimulates the artistic mind, and how the ideas they come up with can stretch much further than the canvas and out into the real world. Almost as interesting are people's reactions to these works: some see them as pretentious fluff, others consider them a unique insight into the inner workings of an artist's mind, and others still are completely indifferent. In 2003, an American artist with a history of creative community projects came up with a wild idea that would serve as an extension of his previous works, offer his wide friendship circle something meaningful to work on together, and make a statement. The fact that it had to remain a complete secret didn't seem to dampen the importance of the latter.

Exclusive: Following her comeback role in the awards season sensation The Last Showgirl, Pamela Anderson has found her next feature project, and that’s Kornél Mundruczó’s poignant drama Place to Be.

The pic from the filmmaker of the Oscar nominated Pieces of a Woman also stars Ellen Burstyn and Taika Waititi, as we first told you. Cameras are rolling in Sydney, Australia.

Mundruczó says he’s “thrilled” to have drawn together such a diverse and talented cast.

“I really love Pamela – she’s such a versatile actress and her most recent performance in The Last Showgirl was unbelievable. She showed such bravery and I’m tremendously excited to work with her,” the filmmaker tells Deadline.

Anderson was nominated recently for SAG, Golden Globe and Gotham awards for Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl in which she plays a veteran Vegas dancer whose legendary show finally shuts down.

J Pinder's new film, Cotton Candy Bubble Gum, is set to premiere tomorrow at SXSW, and Collider is thrilled to bring you an exclusive poster from the film. Via TFW2005, recently revealed at a toy show, the upcoming Hot Wheels x Transformers figures are more than meets the eye like never before. Based on two cars from the line's history, these new toys are stylish to the max, sporting fresh chrome with a clean sheen. The newest Transformers toy line has been revealed, as has its corresponding animated series. Meant to entice younger fans of the franchise, this set of action figures features Autobots and Decepticons that should be familiar to older fans.

Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are present in the new TransformersCyberworld toy line, as are highly altered takes on other characters. The animated series will air on YouTube, with 36 episodes in total planned so far. With a Q4 release date also revealed, fans can look forward to enjoying this take on the property by the holiday season.

Sept. 29, 2006 forever changed Dito Montiel and Robert Downey Jr.’s lives.

It was not only the day that Downey was officially cast as Tony Stark in Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, but it was also the theatrical release date of Montiel’s debut indie drama A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, starring Downey as a semi-autobiographical version of Montiel. The day cemented Downey’s return to industry prominence after a series of highly publicized personal struggles, and the random fall Friday had just as much meaning for Montiel after many of his own storybook ups and agonizing downs.

As a native of Queens in New York City, Montiel was something of a renaissance man before becoming a filmmaker. In the ’80s, he was a mainstay in NYC’s hardcore punk scene as the teenage frontman of Major Conflict. In 1989, his new band, Gutterboy, signed a then-record $1 million deal with Geffen Records.

Somewhat recent Transformers action figures have been consistently reissued in the past few years. The latest toys to receive this treatment are two Generation 1 updates from 2019 and 2021.

Transformers: War for Cybertron: Earthrise Trailbreaker and Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege Prowl are headed back to online retailers, with one of these figures being over half a decade old. Modernizing their original toys, these action figures were a part of the War for Cybertron trilogy of toy lines. Shipping out by the end of the year, these reissues give fans a second chance to nab these highly-sought-after robots in disguise.

Dito Montiel's newest film features a cast loaded with talent, including Jennifer Coolidge, Bill Murray, Gabrielle Union, and Pete Davidson – not too shabby for a former hardcore punk rocker from New York whose path to filmmaking included a pit stop as a Versace model. The director, who made his debut with A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, based on his own memoir, is back with a new crime thriller, Riff Raff, a darkly comic story that necessitated a very special brand of leading lady.

Before Montiel put the cast of Riff Raff together, he knew he needed a distinct type of star to fill a massively important role. As Montiel tells MovieWeb, it started with a simple question:

"Who's Elizabeth Taylor today, you know? I was watching White Lotus, which is about as highbrow as it gets for me, and I'm thinking, Who is this lady? She's freaking great.

The Oscars will honor the best movie of the year this Sunday, but the infamous Razzie Awards have crowned the “worst” of 2024’s films.

Sony’s much-derided superhero film “Madame Web” has the (dis)honor of winning three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson and screenplay. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry,” led with seven nominations and took home screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.

Francis Ford Coppola won for directing his big-budget epic “Megalopolis,” and star Jon Voight won supporting actor for the film — shared with his turns in “Reagan,” “Shadow Land” and “Strangers.” Coppola’s “Megalopolis” received six nominations, which was tied for second-most nods with “Madame Web,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan.”

The famed filmmaker responded to his Razzies on Instagram, saying “box office is only about money, and like war, stupidity and politics has no true place in our future.

The results are in on the 2025 Razzie Awards where the year’s “worst” movies are recognized and awarded.

The annual ceremony, which traditionally takes place just ahead of the Oscars, went down on Friday (February 28).

Going into the event, Borderlands, Joker: Folie a Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis and Reagan led the field of nominees with six nods a piece. After it was all said and done, Madame Web took home the most “wins,” receiving three trophies.

The 45th Razzie Awards results are in. The Academy Awards take place on Sunday evening and, as has become the tradition, the full list of "winners" from the 2025 Razzie Awards has just been unveiled.

Madame Web took three wins for "Worst Picture," "Worst Screenplay," and an arguably well-deserved "Worst Actress" for lead star Dakota Johnson. It wasn't the only comic book adaptation to walk away with a prize, though, as Joker: Folie à Deux nabbed "Worst Sequel" and "Worst Screen Combo" for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

The vast majority of celebrities and filmmakers ignore the Razzies, while few interviewers have the nerve - and understandably so - to ask celebrities about their "wins."

However, Francis Ford Coppola, who earned "Worst Director" for his critically panned Megalopolis, issued a scathing retort on social media today.

Francis Ford Coppola has issued a blistering response to “winning” worst director for Megalopolis after the film was given six Razzie nominations — including worst picture and worst screenplay.

The director’s $120 million passion project already suffered the indignity of being torn apart by critics and flopping at the box office (earning only $12 million globally).

But on Friday, the Razzies — those annual pre-Oscars faux awards for the worst movies of the year — gave Megalopolis wins for director and for co-star Jon Voight.

The annual nominations acknowledge the "worst" movies, filmmakers, and performances from the prior year, and there was no shortage of comic book adaptations up for big honors this year. However, when it came to Worst Director, Francis Ford Coppola got the win for his polarizing, big-budget feature Megalopolis. Taking to Instagram, Coppola commented on the revelation, noting how he nevertheless remains proud of the film, along with himself for taking some risks outside the standard Hollywood movie formula.

While film fans will have to wait until Sunday to find out the winners of the 2025 Oscars, the worst in film this year, the winners of the 2025 Razzies, have been revealed.

Topping this year’s awards with three wins, including worst picture, is Sony’s critically panned box office bust Madame Web.

Madame Web also won worst actress for star Dakota Johnson and worst screenplay.

Johnson previously spoke out about her experience with Madame Web, saying the script radically changed from what she initially read and that she was unlikely to “do anything like it again.”

“It was definitely an experience for me to make that movie,” Johnson told Bustle in an interview that was published a few weeks after the film was released. “I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again, because I don’t make sense in that world.

Director Francis Ford Coppola reputedly spent 40 years making Megalopolis, raising the $120m budget by selling some of his vineyards. Sadly, both time and money could probably have been better spent elsewhere, because the end result falls squarely in the “interesting failure” camp, rather than being the epic masterpiece he undoubtedly envisioned. Still, it’s not without its moments.

The film takes place in New Rome, effectively an alternate version of New York City. Adam Driver plays genius architect Cesar Catilina, who can seemingly halt the flow of time and who has invented a miracle building material known as Megalon, with which he plans to construct a futuristic cityscape.

Transformers collaborations have involved various crossovers with other brands, including the Be@rbrick franchise by MediCom Toys. The latest of these gives Optimus Prime his latest ursine design through an unbearably cute toy, namely one that fits a bit more for Prime's Beast Wars counterpart.

Be@Rbrick × Transformers Optimus Prime Baby Milo(R) 400％ and Be@Rbrick × Transformers Optimus Prime Bape(R) Camo Shark 400％ are the latest Be@rbrickTransformers toys, with these being something of a three-way branding crossover. Uniting cute designs from MediCom Toys with the robot mode of Optimus Prime, these are only one of several such crossovers between the brands. Set to be released soon, fans can put their money where their honey is and pre-order these figures now.

The new “Holes” TV series has filled in a key role: Jac Schaeffer, creator of the Marvel Studios series “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along,” will direct the pilot episode for the Disney+ production, Variety has learned exclusively.

Disney Branded Television ordered the show to pilot in January (as first reported by Variety), with Alina Mankin serving as writer and executive producer and Liz Phang serving as showrunner and executive producer. The logline for this adaptation of Louis Sachar’s 1998 book shifts the story to focus on a teenage girl, who “is sent to a detention camp where the ruthless Warden forces the campers to dig holes for a mysterious purpose.”

As well as serving as showrunner and executive producer on “Agatha All Along,” Schaeffer directed Episodes 1, 2, and 7 of the show, the latter of which especially won wide acclaim last fall for its complex, time-hopping structure and performance showcase for costar Patti LuPone.

Director Francis Lawrence truly deserves credit for Constantine's cult following. He recently revealed how a last-minute meeting with Keanu Reeves ensured that they would collaborate on the film.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Lawrence said that he is still floored by Constantine's insane following. Keanu Reeves is now best-known for his role as the action icon John Wick but, with the actor having wrapped up that particular saga with 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4, he is now “aching” to return as another fan-favorite character. “I didn’t bathe for four months,” Shia Labeouf admitted to Dazed Digital, detailing his intense prep to play a World War II soldier. And that wasn’t all. He also pulled out a tooth, slashed his face, and spent hours watching horses die. While some saw the dedication, others saw disruption.

We've always gotten held up because they go, 'No, we have Constantine. We want to do something with Constantine. You guys can't do your Constantine.' Finally, I think this is right before the strikes, we got everybody to say, 'Okay, you can go.'"

Fans of Constantine seem to have nothing to worry about as the film's director, Francis Lawrence, has given a rather promising update about the sequel. February 18, 2025, marks the 20th anniversary of Constantine's theatrical debut in 2005. Based on the Hellraiser comic series by Vertigo, the movie sees Keanu Reeves step into the role of DC Comics' favorite occult magic user, John Constantine. The film was a moderate box office hit but has grown a cult following, and after years of speculation, Constantine 2 was announced in September 2022.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, director Francis Lawrence has spoken about the sequel and revealed that the movie is in active development. "We just started cooking up some ideas. I will say that we are closer than ever to a Constantine sequel, that there is an idea that Keanu and Akiva and I all really love, and that is being actively developed now," Lawrence said.

For years, fans of the DC universe have eagerly anticipated the return of one of its most enigmatic characters on the big screen: Keanu Reeves’ John Constantine. After decades of false-starts, complete abandonment, and more recent rumors, a new update has suggested that the long-delayed follow-up to 1997’s Constantine is still very much alive and could still become a reality for those who have been patiently waiting for it to happen.

Director Francis Lawrence recently answered the question of what is happening with Constantine 2 during an interview with Collider, and his comments may not be categorically conclusive, but they certainly spark up debates about the possibility of this fan pipe-dream actually becoming reality. Lawrence said tantalizingly of the sequel:

Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano had quite the scare at her husband's birthday celebration when one of the guests inadvertently shot her in the face. Fortunately, she's okay, as revealed in an update shared on social media.

On Instagram, Romano posted a video of herself revealing the wound she sustained just below her left eye. She shared that there was an incident that happened on Saturday when she took her husband, Brendan Rooney, to shoot clay pigeons for his birthday. In the caption of her Instagram post, Romano shared that during that time, "another party" had "unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face." Romano was struck in five places, with one fragment narrowly missing her eye, and it remains in place as doctors say it's "too risky" to attempt to surgically remove the fragment at this time.
