Who Are the Roger Pirates in One Piece?
Image
This ariticle contains spoilers for the One Piece manga.

Gol D. Roger is the catalyst to One Piece's story. He's the first person in known history to reach the island at the end of the Grand Line. To do so, Roger gathered a talented crew who sought to turn the world upside down with him. Every member of the crew who's been featured in the story thus far has been exceptional in some way. The legacy of the Roger Pirates is something all of them carry, even if it's as much of a danger as a source of pride.

Unlike Monkey D. Luffy, Gol D. Roger had far more than 10 members on his crew. The Oro Jackson held 32 canon crewmates and 2 children on board. While most of these characters have names, only a few of them have come up in either the anime or manga thus far. All 4 of...

10 Best '90s Anime You've Probably Never Even Heard Of
Image
The 1990s was a landmark decade for the anime medium, as it saw anime gain a foothold among viewers around the world. Many of the biggest works from this era are still revered to this day, be it among those who grew up watching them or newer anime fans who've gone back to enjoying the classics. While everyone knows about Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon, there were several other great anime released in the '90s that didn't get nearly as much attention.

The 1990s had many hits that developed the anime medium in pivotal ways, continuing the artistic energy of the 1980s while also laying the groundwork for anime becoming more internationally mainstream. These included overlooked mecha classics and fantasy works that were right out of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. While they might not have been as memorable as other anime from that time, these classics can still be revisited today.

Dragon Ball's Super Saiyan God SS Vegito Heads to New York This October
Image
Dragon Ball fans in the U.S. will soon have the opportunity to add an exclusive new Vegito figurine to their collection thanks to an upcoming release at this year's New York Comic Con in October.

An early preview of the merchandise was recently revealed on the Dragon Ball official website, which also includes details about where specifically the figure will be located at Nycc. As seen in Dragon Ball Super, this Vegito figure ascends to Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan -- currently the strongest (canon) form of Vegito to date. While this fusion is generally too powerful for Goku and Vegeta to maintain for long, his appearance fighting against Fused Zamasu was certainly memorable. Sculpted by S.H. Figuarts, the item looks to capture some of Vegito's overwhelming aura.

Ranking Every Dragon Ball Anime Series
Image
Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball has influenced countless other shonen series and the heroic adventures of Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan have inspired an entire generation. Dragon Ball initially began in the ‘80s, but it’s found ways to keep its narrative going and stay relevant with each passing decade.

Dragon Ball is rich in powerful warriors, suspenseful showdowns, and fantastical transformations that all follow the same narrative. However, the exaggerated franchise has divided itself into separate series that all have slightly different agendas and priorities. Each Dragon Ball series has different advantages and drawbacks, even if they all contribute to the greater whole. However, there’s still passionate debate over which Dragon Ball anime is best and why it’s superior to its similar peers.

Which Anime Characters Could Gohan Beast Defeat?
Image
Goku has always been the character in Dragon Ball with the greatest latent potential, and he has finally gotten closer than ever to unlocking that potential with his latest Beast transformation. While he has still never had to show his full power thus far, Akira Toriyama has suggested that Beast Gohan is even beyond the power of Goku and Vegeta's latest Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego transformations in the Dragon Ball Super manga.

As strong as Goku and Vegeta have become, placing Gohan at an even higher level than them means that he has decidedly become one of anime's most powerful characters. There are plenty of super strong characters in anime, but most of anime's strongest heroes and villains alike would fail to put up a fight against Gohan's Beast form in Dragon Ball Super.

How To Read the Dragon Ball Super Manga
Image
Dragon Ball Super is a highly praised manga series that continues the Dragon Ball franchise. It takes place between the end of Dragon Ball Z and the 10-year time skip. The series introduces new characters like Goku Black and Dr. Hedo, along with returning favorites like Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus. There are also new and powerful forms for the characters. Getting into Dragon Ball Super can be confusing, especially with the anime's release history. It is recommended for newcomers to start with the manga and consider the movies as extras.

Dragon Ball is a franchise that needs no introduction, being one of the most instantly recognizable anime and manga series ever created. However, for many fans, Dragon Ball Super, especially its manga incarnation, remains a mystery, as despite being highly praised, getting into it can often seem overwhelming due to the nature of its release and its confusing links to the original Dragon Ball canon.

Baki Hanma Season 2: Plot, Cast, Release Date, and Everything Else We Know
Image
For a long time, anime shows have been praised for their ability to capture complex topics like martial arts down to their essence. There have been several action anime series over the years that have succeeded in every way possible, giving viewers an exhilarating experience. Baki Hanma is based on a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. After the manga ran for eight years straight, from 1991 to 1999, various anime shows were released, including Baki the Grappler and Baki Hanma. With the first season, "Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre," being released in September 2021, delivering the franchise's trademark relentless action, many fans were expecting a second season of the highly successful anime. ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ Sets Late Summer Theatrical Release
Image
More riches are coming exhibitors’ way, particularly during the late summer dry period, as Crunchyroll and Toei Animation are releasing the next Dragon Ball movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, on Aug. 19 in the U.S. and Canada at 2,300 theaters and select Imax venues.

The only other new wide release in theaters at that time is Universal’s Idris Elba movie, Beast. Super Hero is getting a further global blast around the world at the same time.

These Crunchyroll movies are big one weekend cash cows, whereby all the fans come out in one swoop. Rival studios marvel at how Crunchyroll pulls this off, largely without a national TV campaign; dialing into and engaging their fanbase to leave the house. The last Dragon Ball Super: Broly posted a 6-day MLK opening of 22.3M, yet finaled at 30.7M. Worldwide, the pic did 115.7M.
