Subhash K Jha takes a look, once again, at the Salman Khan-Sushmita Sen film, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, which also feature Dis Mirza, released in theatre 23 years ago.

What kind of a filmmaker would sign the stunning Sushmita Sen and keep her out of the narration till past intermission? Perhaps a death wish commands the filmmakers to indulge in the most absurdly self-defeating exercises.

The film’s protagonist, Vir (Salman Khan), is forced by his boisterous father to drink a jug of milk with egg yolk and jog all over a village. Vir’s father (Sharat Saxena) is a Thakur, supposedly in a village in Uttar Pradesh. He makes stupid statements like, “Thakurs aren’t supposed to use their brains. They get a headache if they do.”

The same could be said of filmmakers who make such preposterously illogical films in the hope of selling absurdity as a novelty to the audience.

It was 27 years ago that Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan, appeared on-screen for the one and the only time together! Ishq starred the two actors along with Juhi Chawla and Kajol. The romantic-comedy was released on November 28, 1997. However, do you know that even Amitabh Bachchan was a part of the film?

The rom-com was directed by Inder Kumar, who was also making another film with Big B, who was producing the other film under his production house Abcl. However, the film did not see the light of the day due to huge financial issues between the superstar and the filmmaker!

As soon as that film was shelved, Inder Kumar gave a second thought to Amitabh Bachchan’s supporting role in Ishq. He was supposed to play a character who resolves the issues and brings the couples together.

According to a Times of India report, the project is likely to take off from May-June. Inder Kumar, who had produced films like Kuttram 23 and Thadam, is bankrolling this movie, and he plays a crucial role in it, too. He had shared screen space with Sasikumar in Kodiveeran. Contrary to speculation, the film isn’t a sequel to Sundarapandian. It has a fresh script — the team is yet to finalise the other cast and crew of the project. Last seen in a dhoti-clad, mustache-twirling avatar in Kodiveeran, Sasikumar will be next seen in Asuravadham, a rural action drama, directed by debutant Maruthupandian. The shoot of the film was wrapped up in 40 days and the team even celebrated the successful completion with a party. Produced by Seven Screen Studios, the film also stars Nandita Swetha in the lead alongside Sasikumar. The post-production work has already begun. “The film has been completed in record time. Sasikumar will be seen in a very different avatar and audiences are going to be in for a surprise with his look,” a source from the film’s unit said. Having completed his portion for Asuravadham, Sasikumar is currently shooting Naadodigal 2, being helmed by Samuthirakani. Apparently, the film won’t be a sequel but will carry forward the flavour of Naadodigal. Samuthirakani had said that love and friendship will be the recurring theme of Naadodigal 2. Bharani and Namo Narayana, who were part of the first film, have been brought on board as well. According to Samuthirakani, the story's focus is not on who is paired opposite whom, but on each of these characters, and how they become linked. Bollywood actor Inder Kumar, who worked in superstar Salman Khan-starrers like Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge and Wanted, died on early Friday. He was 43.

Raju Kariya, father of Inder's first wife Sonal, confirmed the news to Ians over phone from Amravati.

"It was a heart attack. It happened around 2 am on Friday. He was not suffering from anything (any disease)," Kariya told Ians.

Inder breathed his last at his residence in Four Bungalows, at Andheri, in Mumbai. He is survived by daughter Khushi, whom he had with Sonal, and his second wife Pallavi.

Actor Inder Kumar, who is remembered for playing Ajay in Salman Khan Starrer Wanted tragically passed away at the age of 45. The actor was at his Mumbai home when he passed away in his sleep after suffering a cardiac arrest. The news was confirmed to the media by his wife, Pallavi Sarraf. According to the actor’s family, he had no history of heart diseases or ailments in his life and his death was indeed a sad one. Starting his career in the late 90’s, Inder Kumar was seen in films including Masoom, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Maa Tujhe Salaam and Paying Guest. Most prominently, he was seen as popular character Mihir Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s drama, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The actor was also infamously involved in a rape and assault case alleged by a model. He was arrested and later got out on bail. Rest in Peace!

Actor Inder Kumar who was arrested for allegedly raping a struggling actress has been granted bail today by the sessions court but only on the bond of Rs. 30,000.

Inder Kumar was charged under sections 376 (rape), 324 (causing grievous) and 506 (criminal intimidation). The victim (the struggling model) had accused actor Inder Kumar of raping her thrice under the pretext of granting her meaty roles in films. She also alleged the actor of being violent as she claimed that she had been thrashed by a beer bottle. However, during the trial, Inder Kumar who has a troubled relationship with his wife, had stated that they had consensual sex.

Inder Kumar has acted in some popular films like Wanted, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Kahi Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Ghunghat, Masoom among others.

Inder Kumar recently was charged under the offence of rape and abusing a 22 year old aspiring actress and now, the court has ordered to keep the actor under judicial custody until May 13.

Known for his roles in popular movies like Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi and Wanted, Inder Kumar was alleged of sexually assaulting the girl after making fake promises of giving her a chance in meaty Bollywood projects. The wounded young actress was later admitted to a suburban hospital in Mumbai and an Fir was filed against the actor at Versova Police Station under sections 376 (Punishment for Rape), 324 (causing grievous hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation).

However, Inder rubbishes these claims and maintains that the sexual act was consensual. Right before these accusations, the police stated that the actor's wife Pallavi had reportedly been to the Versova Police Station to press assault charges against Inder after a heated argument between the two.

Inder Kumar, who was seen in films like Masoom, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Wantedand many more, has been accused of raping by a 22 year old girl. An Fir for the same has been lodged at the Versova police station following which the actor has been asked to appear at the station. The victim is said to be an aspiring model and this is supposedly being considered as a case of casting couch. Apparently, Inder made contact with the girl under the false pretense of providing film opportunities and continued abusing her. Currently, the girl has been taken for medical tests and the results are awaited.
