New Delhi, Sep 5 (Ians) At a time when the noose is tightening on actress Rhea Chakraborty in a much-talked-about drugs case, controversial Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni, wife of narco kingpin Vicky Goswami, is seeking a clean chit in a Rs 2000-crore international drug cartel scandal. Kulkarni has been named a co-accused along with Nairobi-based drug lord Goswami, in a case registered by Thane police under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act which relates to manufacture of drugs such as ephedrine and mandrax.

Last week, a division bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justice Rohinton F. Nariman and Justice Navin Sinha directed the Bombay High Court to expeditiously take up the case of actress Kulkarni, who had filed a petition for quashing of Fir registered against her. Popular actress of the 90s Mamta Kulkarni who was last seen in the Dev Anand film Censor has over the years had her run-ins with the law. Now we hear that the Thane police have arrested Vicky in what is being considered as the largest drugs bust in recent times. Apparently, the Thane police have named Vicky as one of the masterminds in the large consignment of drugs which was seized amounting to approximately 18,627 kg of ephedrine (a medicine abused to make Crystal Meth), worth over Rs 2,000 crore. While the police have arrested five people which includes two from the now defunct unit of pharmaceutical company Avon in Solapur, it is learnt that Vicky had met Punit, one of the other masterminds, in 2013. Post this meeting Vicky had been routing drugs from the Us through Gujarat into various cities of India.

Mumbai, April 24: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan admits that while shooting for an inner wear ad (DixcyScott), he was reminded of his film "Karan Arjun".

Directed by Rakesh Roshan, 1995 release "Karan Arjun" featured Salman and Shah Rukh Khan together, who were among the top actors of that time. Also starring Raakhee as their mother, the film featured Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni as the female leads.

"Karan Arjun" was a blockbuster.

Mumbai, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is miffed with Anil Naik, who filed a case against him and his wife Twinkle for obscene behaviour in public during the recent Lakme India Fashion Week (Lifw).
