There is something special about the character and temperament of Scandinavian music - the fragrance of long, bright Midsummer nights; dark, crisp autumns; grim winters; and the returning warmth and life of spring. Something that moves deep in the minds of the Nordic peoples and has left its mark on generations of composers, musicians and - conductors. I grew up with the Scandinavian musical tradition, and count many Scandinavian composers and musicians among my personal friends... Northern magic is the genuine foundation of my life and work.
