The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D will be released on January 4th, so we’ll have the first trailer from the movie very soon. Until then, take a look at a brand new teaser poster that was released.
Directed by John Luessenhop, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D stars Alexandra Daddario, Scott Eastwood, Bill Moseley, Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae, and Richard Riehle. The new movie is not a remake and does not tie into the earlier films from Platinum Dunes. Instead, this film is being developed as a direct sequel to the storyline from the original 1974 movie.
We’ve included the teaser poster below via Fangoria and also have the previously issued press release with additional character details:

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D will be released almost one year from now, on October 5th, 2012. We probably won’t be hearing too much about the new movie until next year, but a teaser poster has made its way online and we’ve included it for you to check out.
Given the lack of polish on the logo and the mention of Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, we’re guessing this was meant as sales art, but figured that fans interested in the sequel would want to see it anyway.

Production on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is well under way, and we've all been waiting for the goodies to start flowing off of the set. Dan Yeager, the man who plays the new Leatherface, recently shared some quick photos on his Facebook page, and we have them for you right here.
True, they don't really show much of anything at all, but we did take note of the blood on the armrests of his chair. Dig it!
Yeager is even posting a bit about his days on the set. "I am staying as faithful as I can to the work that Gunnar Hansen did in the original," writes the new Leatherface. "I've also tried to interpret his life experiences explored in this film. I would say, the most significant change in Leatherface is that he can no longer rely on others to think for him. I can't say more...

Francene Selkirk started as an actor and then worked in commercials in jobs from production assistant to producer before becoming a commercial casting director. She understands all parts of the business and loves her job, which is probably why many readers who voted for her commented on how she is equal parts genuine, warm, friendly, and professional. "She has passion for the business," says Back Stage reader Mark Joseph Murphy. "She likes new faces and real people," says Joan Crotty. "She remembers faces." Selkirk's office, Shooting From the Hip Casting, is a busy one. Still, as Denise Moses says, "She creates an efficient yet non-stressful casting room." "I think my assistants and I realize that no creativity comes through when we are in chaos," Selkirk says. "All of the people who work with me are good people. We have manners; we say please and thank you. I think it's important.

Well. Consider the landscape surrounding The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie officially covered in fog. For months now we've been reporting that the next film in the franchise will be taking place right after Tobe Hooper's original ended. That may not be the case after all.
Directed by John Luessenhop and penned by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco, with the most recent drafts by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop, here are the plot details which had originally surfaced:
Leatherface 3D or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper's classic 1974 film. In it we follow the lead character, Heather, who, along with her friends, travels to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? Said inheritance comes with a cousin who goes by the name of Leatherface. That's right, the character of Heather will now own one of the sickest mass murderers of the 20th century.

Some breaking news to add a little startle to your Sunday afternoon. Iconic Texas Chainsaw alumnus Bill Moseley, who created one of the single most crazed villains in horror history in Chop-Top, is getting revved up to return to the franchise that put him on the horror map.
Even cooler? Dread Central has learned he's been cast in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (aka Leatherface 3D) as a character named "Drayton", an obvious nod to actor Jim Siedow, who appeared in the first two films. More on who this character will be, we're hoping for a cook, soon.

Funny how the industry works. We can go forever without hearing a peep about a project and then all of a sudden the floodgates crack open and the details begin trickling in. Case in point ... Leatherface 3D.
Some early plot details and other tidbits have been landed by Bloody Disgusting from an insider close to the project. Given that Bd also reported that director John Luessenhop was in talks to be at the helm of this latest tango with a chainsaw a while ago, we'd say their insider is pretty much worth his or her salt.
