Vivacious, blond Austrian actress, dancer and singer, the daughter of a cavalry officer. She became popular in lightweight musical comedies and operettas during the 1930's. Her career declined in the aftermath of World War II. Kreysler briefly operated a dry cleaning business in Munich before returning to acting on stage and in films, albeit now in supporting roles.

The 50's were the last decade in which Dorit Kreysler appeared in movies.

The actress Dorit Kreysler took part in movies between 1934 and 1935. After that she concentrated to the theater and only returned to the big screen from 1938.

She impersonated support roles in "Sensation in San Remo" (1951), "Die vertagte Hochzeitsnacht" (1953), "Die Wirtin an der Lahn" (1955) and "Das einfache Mädchen" (1957). After that she retired from the film business and acted exclusively for the theater.
