One of the first stand up comedians who was not African-American to appear on BET's Comic View.

Started his career as a stand up comedian at the Comedy Cafe in Washington, D.C. alongside fellow comedians Martin Lawrence and Tommy Davidson.

Was an art major at Montgomery College in Maryland and Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Has been studying martial arts since he was 12 years old and has black belts in Tang Soo Do and Te-Katana Jujitsu, while also having studied other styles like Wing Chun, Hung Gar, Aikido, Shotokan, American Kickboxing, etc.

Performs regularly at The Comedy Store in Hollywood, California for over 10 years.

His first professional stunt gig was to fight Jet Li, in Tsui Hark's film "The Master.".

Some of John's childhood martial arts experiences are documented in the book- Bullyproof Your Child: An Expert's Advice on Teaching Children to Defend Themselves, by Keith Vitali.

John is extensively interviewed in the book- Ultimate Game Design, by Tom Meigs. Pages 46-51.

John saw the movie- Enter the Dragon, over 60 times in the theaters as a kid growing up.

Has had actual video game producing and design experience. Some of the companies he has worked for include Sony Pictures, Mattel, TH-Q, and SNK of Japan.

Wrote many articles, movie reviews, and interviews (including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Woo Ping) for Inside Kung Fu, World of Martial Arts, Kung Fu-Tai Chi, Impact, and Backstage West.

Studied Screenwriting at UCLA for over 2 years.

Inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum's 2013 Hall of Honor.

When John first moved to Los Angeles, one of the jobs he had was as a bookkeeper for rock star Ronnie James Dio.

On Oct. 17, 2015, The Martial Arts History Museum in Burbank, CA. declared it as John Kreng Day.

Was Head Instructor of the Martial Arts Program for the L.A.P.D. Police Athletic League teaching at risk kids.
