‘A Better You’ Short Film Review
Image
Stars: Seán T. Ó’Meallaigh, Hannah Mamalis, Marcio Wille, Charlie Kranz, Aoife Nic Ardghail | Written and Directed by Eamonn Murphy

A short film that was selected to screen at the Oscar-qualifying Tribeca Film Festival which, due to the Coronavirus outbreak the festival will now screen films online in the coming months, A Better You is directed by Eamonn Murphy and takes place in a peculiar steampunk world where a man named Douglas (Seán T. Ó’Meallaigh) orders a clone of himself in order to attempt to win the girl of his dreams who he finds himself unable to impress.

This felt like one big metaphor for how lives are lived in the modern age, with social media playing such a strong part of people’s lives, and with the status updates and profiles filled with perhaps less-then-truthful things. The classic yet futuristic visuals are great and the overall production design here is damn good.

Lock-out (2012) Movie Trailer: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, James Mather
Lock-Out Trailer. Stephen St. Leger, James Mather‘s Lock-Out (2012) movie trailer stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, and Vincent Regan. Lock-Out‘s plot synopsis: “A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the Us is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.”

This movie trailer is missing the extreme satirical nature of the Lock-Out (2012) International Movie Trailer and Lock-Out (2012) International Movie Trailer 2. This time around we are given better music and more of the villains in the film. I especially liked the criminal with teeth tattooed across his lips.

Lock-Out also stars Jacky Ido, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Gary Hetzler, Yan Dron, Charlie Kranz, and Patrick Cauderlier.

Watch the Lock-Out movie trailer below and leave your thoughts on it in the comments section. For more Lock-Out / Ms One: Maximum Security photos,...

Lock-out / Ms One: Maximum Security (2012) Movie Trailer
Lockout Trailer, Ms One: Maximum Security Trailer. James Mather, Stephen St. Leger‘s Lock-Out / Ms One: Maximum Security (2012) movie trailer stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, and Vincent Regan. Lock-Out‘s plot synopsis: “A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the Us is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.”

We previously posted the Lock-Out (2012) International Movie Trailer.

I am going to see this film just for the jokes. This action film looks funny. Many people are saying Guy Pearce’s character is a replica of S.D. Plissken from Escape to New York. Snake was not a smartass like the character in this film is, he was insolent.

Lockout also stars Jacky Ido, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Gary Hetzler, Yan Dron, Charlie Kranz, and Patrick Cauderlier.

Lockout (2012) International Movie Trailer: Guy Pearce, James Mather
Lockout Trailer. James Mather, Stephen St. Leger‘s Lockout (2012) international movie trailer stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, and Vincent Regan. Lockout‘s plot synopsis: “A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the Us is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.”

Guy Pearce’s character does not give a damn in this movie trailer and its hilarious, almost as good Steve Austin‘s questioning scene in The Condemned. That what happens when you feel betrayed by your own country then they come back to you for a favor.

On another note, the montage at the end of this trailer is shabby, badly done.

Lockout also stars Jacky Ido, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Gary Hetzler, Yan Dron, Charlie Kranz, and Patrick Cauderlier.
