'John Wick' Star Scott Adkins’ New WWII Action Thriller Gets Release Update

John Wick star, and still the most underrated action icon fighting the good fight, Scott Adkins will bring his particular set of skills to World War II later this year. Adkins, who is well-known to action fans thanks to his roles in the likes of the Undisputed franchise, Accident Man, Avengement, and One Shot, has finally seen his star rise thanks to his scene-stealing part as Killa Harkan, the head of the German Table, in John Wick: Chapter 4. Now, he’s fighting for his life as a prisoner of war.

New details have now emerged about the project, with the war action thriller changing its title from Death March to Prisoner of War. The movie was picked up for distribution by Well Go USA at the end of last year, with Prisoner of War having now been given a September release window (via Action-Flix).

Variety has reported that Well Go USA have picked up the North American rights for Death March, a WWII action film starring Scott Adkins, directed by Louis Mandylor and scripted by Marc Clebanoff. A British airman washes ashore after being ejected from his plane and becomes a prisoner in a Japanese-run Pow camp. While waiting to join the infamous Bataan death march, the airman is tortured by the camp commander and is forced to fight for his life against an array of skilled Japanese warriors. Adkins portrays the airman. Peter Shinkoda plays the camp commander. Scott Adkins’ Philippines-Set ‘Death March’ Picked Up for North American Release (Exclusive)

Leading indie distributor Well Go USA has picked up North American rights to “Death March,” an upcoming WWII action film starring and conceived by action star Scott Adkins.

In Adkins’ story, scripted by Marc Clebanoff, a British airman washes ashore after being ejected from his plane and becomes a prisoner in a Japanese-run Pow camp. While waiting to join the infamous Bataan death march, the airman is tortured by the camp commander and is forced to fight for his life against an array of skilled Japanese warriors. Adkins portrays the airman. Veteran actor Peter Shinkoda plays the camp commander.

Under the direction of Louis Mandylor, the film has recently wrapped production in the Subic Bay and Bataan region of the Philippines. Release plans have not yet been finalized.
