Kim van Kooten is an actor/writer/producer with a long-standing career in film and television. She made her acting debut in 1995 with the critically acclaimed film ZUSJE. One year later, in 1996, Kim made her screenwriting debut with the film BLIND DATE, which also won several awards and has been remade in the U.S. in 2007, directed by Stanley Tucci.
She has acted in numerous films and series, including the film PHILEINE ZEGT SORRY (Award for Best Actrice in The Netherlands, 2003) and hit series like EVELIEN (2006-2007) and HOLLANDS HOOP (2014-2020), as well as the TV movie DE ZITTING (2021).
In addition, Kim has written screenplays for several award-winning films such as MET GROTE BLIJDSCHAP (Award, Best Scenario in The Netherlands, 2001) and the box office hit ALLES IS LIEFDE (2007).
In 2015, Kim made her debut as a novelist with the book LIEVELING which was longlisted for the Libris Literature Prize.
More recently, Kim wrote the screenplays for DAG & NACHT, the most successful Dutch drama series of 2023 and DE VERSCHRIKKELIJKE JAREN 80 (2022). For the screenplayof DE VERSCHRIKKELIJKE JAREN '80, she received the prestigious Dutch Kees Holierhoek Screenplay Award. She was also an executive producer and lead actor on both productions.
