Komarnicki was a star athlete at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois. He played first base and was noted for his prowess at the plate and on the field. Komarnicki also provided football, basketball, and hockey play-by-play for the college radio station. Todd's silky smooth voice and colorful commentary are fondly remembered by his adoring classmates.
