- Léonide Kogan was born on November 14, 1924 in Dnepropetrovsk, Russia. He was an actor, known for Ma nuit chez Maud (1969), Regina ja miehet (1983) and Nicolo Paganini (1982). He died on December 17, 1982 in Moscow, Russia.
- Russian violinist who made his debut in Moscow at the age of 17. In 1947 he was co-winner of the first prize at the World Festival of Democratic Youth in Prague, and in 1951 won the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. In 1952 he joined the teaching staff of the Moscow Conservatory. He was named People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1964 and received the Lenin Prize in 1965.
