Maura Megan Knowles is an Actor/Singer/Writer. On the set of her first job in Los Angeles, Maura caught the eye of Warren Beatty who upgraded her to a featured role in the film Bulworth (1998). She's been active in the industry ever
since, guest-starring in such hit television shows as New York - Unité spéciale (1999), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015), Rosewood (2015), Stitchers (2015), Médium (2005), Lie to Me (2009), Numb3rs (2005), Urgences (1994), Girlfriends (2000), Titus (2000), Becker (1998), Providence (1999) and Les feux de l'amour (1973). Recurring roles include Common Ground (2023), Just Sayin' (2014) and Amour, gloire et beauté (1987). More recently she worked on the movie Match Dot Mom (2024).
As a singer, Maura has had roles in several musicals -- from Francis Ford Coppola's musical adaptation of "Gidget" to the award-winning rock musical "Bare." More recently she worked on the movie musical Spit Me Out (2024). She has also been a featured vocalist on numerous CDs.
Maura is also a prolific writer and was one of twelve songwriters accepted into the Mercer Great American Songwriting Program at Northwestern University in Chicago. She has also written screenplays, and television pilots and has written for trade publications, magazines, and blogs. Her plays and musicals in development have also been featured in theatre festivals, notably The Western Stage's Playwrights' Festival in Salinas, CA. She is a Teaching Artist for Fountain Voices at Hollywood High School in Theatre Writing, and the Education Outreach Coordinator for Los Angeles' Musical Theatre Guild (MTG).
