I Can't Sing! review: Does Harry Hill musical have The X Factor?
It was nervous and shellshocked Big Brother contestants who used to be told "it's all panto", but the phrase could just as easily apply to The X Factor. The singing behemoth has always been an over-the-top production, a ludicrous parade of contestants and a fantasy world of dance routines and sparkly outfits. To be honest, that's part of why we love it - it just wouldn't be as much fun without a bit of excess, would it? But it's also why The X Factor seems to lend itself to the exuberant world of the stage.

I Can't Sing! has been dogged by pre-opening night problems - cancelled shows, technical problems (understandable, given the truly impressive set) - but now that it's finally flung its doors open to the wider public, is it actually any good? X Factor musical I Can't Sing! unveils Cheryl, Louis actors - picture
The actors playing the parody roles of Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh in Harry Hill's I Can't Sing! The X Factor Musical have been revealed.

Victoria Elliot will star as 'Jordy', while Ashley Knight is taking the role of 'Louis'.

The musical, which opens at the London Palladium on February 27, also stars Downton Abbey actor Nigel Harman in the lead role of Simon Cowell.

Of landing the role of Jordy, Elliot said: "I am absolutely made up to be playing the part of Jordy in I Can¹t Sing!. I¹ve always been a massive fan of Harry Hill and Steve Brown has been involved in making some of my favourite comedy, they¹re a couple of legends, it¹s a real privilege to see them at graft every day.

Bww TV: New Trailer Released for West End's X Factor Musical, I Can't Sing!
I Can't Sing, the brand new musical comedy from Harry Hill amp Steve Brown, opens in the West End next Spring. As previously announced, Olivier Award-winner Nigel Harman will play X Factor supremo Simon, with Cynthia Erivo recent Evening Standard Award nominee for The Color Purple and Alan Morrissey as lovestruck contestants Chenice and Max. Joining Nigel on the judging panel will be Ashley Knight as the ever-positive boyband manager Louis and Victoria Elliot as pop queen Jordy.
