10 Jurassic Park Characters Dominion Ignored (And How They Could've Fixed The Movie)
Image
Lex and Tim Murphy could have brought the Jurassic saga full circle in Jurassic World Dominion. Amanda Kirby could have repaid her ex-husband's sacrifice in a heroic way in the film. Nick Van Owen could have provided some much-needed comic relief to the dull and humorless Jurassic World Dominion.

From Nick Van Owen to Lex and Tim Murphy, there are a bunch of missing Jurassic Park characters who couldve saved the critically panned Jurassic World Dominion. Jurassic World Dominion promised to be a sort of Avengers: Endgame for the Jurassic Park saga, bringing the stars of the old classics and the stars of the new reboots together in one big mega ensemble. Chris Pratts Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howards Claire Dearing both returned as expected, but Dominion also brought back Sam Neill as Alan Grant, Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm.

Unfortunately, having this...

A Jurassic Park Theory Gives Solid Proof of the Series' Most Brutal Death
Image
The Jurassic Park franchise has reeled in its audience thanks to impressive special effects, a surprisingly thought-provoking theme and, of course, dinosaurs. But with all types of dinosaurs being explored, it's the perfect setup for a range of encounters that venture from cute, like seeing a baby Stegosaurus, to terrifying, like being chased by a pack of Velociraptors. But one thing that's always stuck out for fans was the many violent deaths that took place in all six entries of the franchise.

When gruesome deaths come to mind for Jurassic Park, Eddie Carr being ripped in half by T-Rexes in The Lost World: Jurassic Park may be a highlight. But modern installments had their own twisted moments, like the unlucky death of one employee by the Indominus Rex in Jurassic World, who tried to hide behind a truck, only to be found and eaten in one bite. Yet, all...

The Top 7 Unjustified Deaths In The Jurassic Park Franchise
Image
The Jurassic Park franchise is the most popular dinosaur series of all time, but it has occasionally gone too far in killing off characters. Jurassic Park first began with Michael Crichton's 1990 novel, with Steven Spielberg directing the 1993 film adaptation and Crichton co-writing it with David Koepp. Jurassic Park would become the biggest movie of all time up to that point, spawning both numerous sequels and an entire multimedia franchise in animation, video games, toys, and other areas. With the more recent success of Jurassic World: Dominion and Netflix's Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, the Jurassic Park franchise's popularity remains as strong as ever.

As a franchise in which dinosaurs are brought into the modern world through lab experiments and cloning, the deaths of human characters are only to be expected in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies. However, despite their innate sense of wonder and adventure, the Jurassic Park...

Jurassic World: La colo du Crétacé (2020)
Camp Cretaceous Reveals the Real Monsters of Jurassic World
Jurassic World: La colo du Crétacé (2020)
This article contains spoilers for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous season 2 and the Jurassic franchise at large.

Our first introduction to Jurassic Park and its dinosaurs is on a dark and misty night, Men wait with guns as the crane crashes through the forest carrying a Velociraptor we are only allowed glimpses of. Tension hangs in the air. When she tries to escape, there are cries of “Shoot her! Shoot her!” The raptor attacks, and rest in peace Jophery, first victim of the monster.

If this scene tells us anything, it is that we are undoubtedly watching a monster movie. And Jurassic Park is. Throughout the first film in this now-lengthy franchise, characters are eaten and dismembered and terrorized as the result of the monsters running free and doing whatever they want with no regard for human safety. Yet, many years later, in the second season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,...

Jurassic Park Trilogy Is Coming to Netflix Next Month After Leaving NBC's Peacock
Image
Life finds a way...For Netflix subscribers to watch the Jurassic Park trilogy next month. But one streaming service's gain is another's loss, as Peacock, which recently launched nationwide through NBCUniversal, is losing the popular blockbusters little more than two weeks after they debuted. It is an example of just how competitive the situation has become for marquee content in the current media landscape, with the streaming wars heating up in a big way.

Peacock launched in the U.S. on July 15 and the Jurassic Park movies were a potentially huge draw. But it seems a short-term, 17-day licensing window was worked out that was put in place to help draw attention to content on the service in the early days. Meanwhile, Netflix revealed recently via its official Twitter account that the first three entries in the franchise, 1993's Jurassic Park, 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park and 2001's Jurassic Park III,...

Maigret, Miss Jean Brodie and Garrow’s Law on DVD
Garrow’s Law co. BBC

Kieran Kinsella

Acorn Media’s February 26 line-up begins with a value box set of the BBC’s most popular courtroom drama – Garrow’s Law. Acorn have previously released some of the 18th century barrister’s stories in the U.S. but this 6 disc set is Garrow’s Law: The Complete Collection. Aside from the twelve episodes that aired during the show’s three year run, you also get an hour of extras that includes a feature on the real life William Garrow and some behind-the-scenes footage.

The real William Garrow was something of a social reformer who did his best to defend the poor and the uneducated at a time when “justice” was often swift and harsh. Andrew Buchan (The Sinking of the Laconia) takes on the title role. He looks a little like Ross Poldark and the whole show is based in the same...
