Her half-brother Ben Kinsella, aged 16, was stabbed to death by a gang of three youths in a London street (29 June 2008).

Was raised by her mother Debbie Kinsella (b. 1962), a secretary, and her stepfather George Kinsella (b. 1959), a London cab driver. She has a sister, Jade, and a half-sister Georgia (b. 1994).

Awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2011 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to the Prevention of Knife Crime in the communities.

Gave birth to her first child at age 37, a daughter Elsie Rose Georgia Boardley on September 22, 2020. Child's father is her husband, Simon Boardley.
