Karl Kimbrough is a multi-talented artist with a diverse background in film, television, and music. He began his career as a musician before transitioning to film and television while studying at the University of North Texas. After directing several short films and commercials while in school, he went on to produce short films with his partner King Hollis, which led to a successful career in commercial production and post-production. In 1998, he helped co-create the Deep Ellum Film Festival in Dallas, Texas, while he continued to work as a director and producer at Raygun Films, producing hundreds of commercials for national and regional television.
In 2004 his company Alter Ego Films was affected by the downfall of commercial production companies, but Karl was able to pivot to the world of reality TV and has never looked back. He has produced various television shows and in 2014, he became Vice President of Development at All3 Media's Studio Lambert in Culver City, where he co-developed dozens of shows, including "Undercover Boss: Celebrity," "Just Jillian," "True Tori," and many others. Prior to that stint he also co-created and produced his own show, "Triple Rush," with partner Scott Papera, which aired on the Travel Channel in 2011.
Throughout his career, Karl has won various awards from editing the film, "Fat Girls" by Ash Christian which won NYC's Outfest emerging artist award to winning the "Audience Award" a the Deep Ellum Film Festival with his short, "Life By The Drop" written by Robbie McCallum as well as garnering two Emmy nominations, Real Screen Best Docu-Series Award for "Wahlburgers" and 6 regional Emmys and several Telly's for his commercial work throughout the years. He recently served as Co-Executive Producer of the award-winning series "Wahlburgers" and as Supervising Editor on shows such as "Lego Masters" "The Masked Singer," "The Biggest Loser," "Masterchef," "Running Wild with Bear Grylls," "World of Dance," and many more. He is known as a creative pioneer, setting the style, format, and look of whatever project he is involved in. And he has coined the title "Executive Editor" which is yet to catch on.
