Eric Red’s Body Parts gets a 4K Uhd release in January
Image
The Eric Red-scripted classic The Hitcher just received a 4K release from Second Sight Films in September (and another one from Warner Bros. last month), and now Kino Lorber has announced that they’ll be giving Red’s film Body Parts (watch it Here) a 4K Uhd release in January! The street date is January 21st, and copies are available for pre-order through the Kino Lorber website.

Directed by Red from a screenplay credited to him and Norman Snider, with Patricia Herskovic and Joyce Taylor receiving story credit, Body Parts is the bone-chilling tale of a medical experiment gone murderously wrong. Bill Chrushank is a criminal psychologist who loses his arm and nearly his life in a grisly car accident. A daring medical operation follows, in which a donor’s arm is successfully grafted onto Bill’s body. But after the operation, the arm starts to take on a violent life of its own,...

The story is set in a strange world of twin planets, a poorer land below and a more affluent world above, with each planet's gravitational fields pulling in opposite directions. This scene features Adam (Jim Sturgess) and Eden (Kirsten Dunst) using the opposite gravity to their advantage to go on a fun and bizarre piggy-back ride in director Juan Diego Solanas' drama.

Upside Down - Exclusive "Imagine If"

Ever since Adam (Jim Sturgess) and Eden (Kirsten Dunst) fell in love as teens, their bond has faced astronomical odds. The pair are separated not just by social class and a political system bent on keeping them apart, but also by a freak planetary condition: they live on twinned worlds with gravities that pull in opposite directions-he on the poverty-stricken planet below,...

Upside Down Movie Review
Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess in Upside Down (2012)
Title: Upside Down Director: Juan Solanas Starring: Jim Sturgess, Kirsten Dunst, Timothy Spall, Blu Mankuma, Nicholas Rose, James Kidnie, Vlasta Vrana What begins as a grand concept full of unusual possibilities — twinned, touching planets with opposing gravitational fields — quickly succumbs to a frustrating mixture of pretentiousness and torpor in “Upside Down,” Argentinean-born writer-director Juan Solanas’ dystopian romance, starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess. A gussied-up, threadbare fairytale narrative that unfolds in perpetual pursuit of memorable images over narrative sensibility, this misfire illustrates the axiom that even if not all good ideas are original, all original ideas are certainly not good. Unfolding against a backdrop of inter-world tension, the basic split [ Read More ]

Must Watch: Trailer For Juan Solanas’ Upside Down, Starring Kirsten Dunst & Jim Sturgess!
Well, one thing is for sure – Juan Solanas‘ upcoming movie Upside Down looks totally weird. Good, but weird! Starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess in the leading roles, this romantic fantasy film will teach us that gravity is (definitely) a bitch, but that bitch has no chance against true love! Check out the rest of this report to see what we’re talking about!

Juan Solanas co-wrote the script together with Santiago Amigorena, and the whole thing centers on Sturgess’ character – a young man named Adam, who searches the forbidden twin world that fills the sky above him for the long-lost love from his youth.

In other words – we have a sci-fi take on Romeo and Juliet, only these lovers will have to attempt to unite against two different worlds which hover above & below one another by way of reverse gravitational pulls.

Or, even better – Solanas’ movie is a visually...

A Farewell To Fringe: A Closer Look at the Final Fight For The Future
The time has come to say goodbye and Fringe fans across the globe are preparing for a teary-eyed finale. It won’t matter if it is a happy ending or a sad ending for our heroes, it will be just hard to say farewell to characters that become like family. Will Friday nights ever be the same again without Walter, Peter, Olivia, Astrid and Broyles? Will it be enough to know that somewhere out there a “fringe” division exists and they are working diligently to save the universe or multiple universes from mad scientists, wormholes, dark matter, converging timelines and much, much more?

When it came time for the cast and producers of Fringe to say goodbye to the fans at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, there was not a dry eye in the room. Even the normally impervious press were not untouched by the extreme emotion displayed that day.

'Smallville' Season 10, Episode 15 Preview: 'Fortune'
Earlier this month we reported that "Smallville" would be getting its own version of "The Hangover," and from the looks of this week's preview, that's exactly what we'll see in Friday's episode.

Titled "Fortune," the episode features Clark Kent and Lois Lane attempting to piece together the details of their bachelor and bachelorette parties after imbibing some magical liquor (a gift from Zatanna). The episode will also feature the debut of Amos Fortune, a character played by James Kidnie and based on the DC Comics villain.

The episode synopsis, trailer, and preview clip released by The CW indicate that it was a particularly wild night for the gang — a night that might involve Clark marrying Chloe Sullivan and robbing an armored car, and Lois conducting some sketchy business of her own with a casino owner.

"Smallville" airs Friday at 8 Pm Eastern on The CW.

'Swamp Devil' (DVD)
Despite their dramatic potential, ecological importance and scientific interest, swamps rarely get the good press that crystal-clear lakes, misty mountains and sun-drenched beaches do. This may be partly because so much superstition has grown up around them. Swamp monsters are popular expressions of this superstition, embodying the impression that swamps are muddy, bug-infested slime pits.

Perhaps the most famous such monster in the annals of film is the comic book character Swamp Thing. This tangle of humanoid swamp vegetation first appeared in DC Comics' House of Secrets #92 (1971) and he was later revamped for his own title. In the 1980s the comic was adapted for the film Swamp Thing. The character has also appeared in that film's sequel, The Return of Swamp Thing, and animated and live-action television series.

Contemporary with the origination of Swamp Thing was the first appearance of Marvel Comic's Man-Thing. Swamp Thing and Man-Thing had similar origin...
