She grew up with her grandmother Elisabeth in Vienna. Her mother Hannelore was an actress and her father Sammy Ammissah was a mechanical engineer. After finishing school with a high school diploma, Kiesbauer studied journalism and theater studies. In her diploma thesis she addressed the topic "The historical novel of Thomas Becket in the theater of Jean Anouilh, T. S. Eliot and Christopher Fry". Kiesbauer had her first contact with television while she was still a student. As a young talent, she successfully moderated the ORF youth magazine "X-Large" from 1989 to 1993 and the 3sat city series "Inter-City" from 1990 to 1991. In 1991, Kiesbauer started her career in Munich at the private broadcaster ProSieben.

Here she stood in front of the camera as a presenter for the TV magazine "Rund um Hollywood". After numerous other successful productions, she received her own talk show on ProSieben in 1994 under the title "Arabella". Following the US model, she spoke to her guests about everyday and explosive topics. Within a few months, Kiesbauer became one of the most popular presenters on German television. In her first year she was awarded the Bavarian Television Prize as "Best Talk Newcomer". In 1996, Kiesbauer received the media award "The Golden Cable" from the program magazine "Gong". In the same year she celebrated her screen debut as an actress in a supporting role in the cinema production "Das Superweib".

Kiesbauer presented the ORF music event "Starmania" on Austrian television in 2002/2003. On June 4, 2004, Kiesbauer's last talk show was broadcast on ProSieben after ten years of "Arabella". Since then, she has continued her work as a presenter at ORF in Vienna, among others. After a few episodes of the political talk "Arabella Kiesbauer - Talk without a show" on the news channel N24, presenter Bärbel Schäfer took over the format in January 2007. In December 2004, Arabella Kiesbauer married the Viennese entrepreneur Florens Eblinger. Their daughter was born in Vienna on December 2, 2007.
