As one of the most beloved actresses of this, or any generation, Jamie Lee Curtis has seemingly done it all. From battling Michael Myers in Halloween to hanging from a helicopter in True Lies, nothing has been off limits. Heck, she even put on a pair of leotards in the 1985 film Perfect to play an aerobics instructor, gyrating her way to stardom along with co-star John Travolta. Now, 40 years later, Curtis recreated the famous workout scene — this time with Jimmy Fallon — and the results are spectacular.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (seen below), Curtis and the late night host shared a laugh after watching the original scene from Perfect, which saw her and Travolta sweating up a storm in an aerobics class. The duo then revealed that there was some behind-the-scenes footage that had never been seen, and presented fans with a humorous recreation of the iconic moment,...

Nine Entertainment, Australia’s largest media conglomerate last week announced plans to cut 200 jobs. It blamed a weak advertising market and the non-renewal of a news content deal with Meta, the U.S. giant that operates Facebook and Instagram. It also follows scandals over alleged misbehavior by staff.
That is a pattern that follows other media conglomerates in Australia.
The Murdoch family’s News Corp. Australia last month announced a A$65 million ($43 million) cost-saving program. It too blamed the commercial environment and Meta. As a result, several senior executives are to lose their jobs and the group will be split into three divisions.
The Kerry Stokes-controlled Seven Media said earlier last week that it will seek A$100 million of cost savings, cut 150 jobs and also split itself into three parts.
Roughly half of the Nine lay-offs will are to come from its publishing businesses, with 38 from television news and...

Curtis Harrington’s Ruby (1977) is a perfect example of what I like to call a or something film, to wit: Piper Laurie follows up her Academy Award nominated turn in Carrie (’76) to headline as a former gun moll haunted by her dead ex while she runs a drive-in and her 16 year old becomes possessed by said dead ex. Or something. Fractured and scattered but a whole lot of fun, Ruby is positively littered with or something’s and I kind of love it for that.
Released by Dimension Pictures in late June, Ruby was a big hit with audiences, returning $16 million off of a sub million dollar budget. This was clearly the Carrie effect; I remember the trailer playing on TV at the time, and my wee mind was blown by the final image – a woman in a red dress being dragged underwater. For a kid with an early thirst for horror,...
