Quotes

  • [on her OBE] I consider myself very lucky to be able to help some amazing charities who really make a difference, but I am only a very, very small part of what they achieve.
  • I've never interviewed David Bowie and I don't think I could. I would just be too hyper! And I still get really excited about all the Eighties bands that come on the show. A lot of my team are a good bit younger than me, and they don't understand why I'm going "Oh my God, it's Spandau Ballet!" I'm, like, "You're kids, you know nothing!"
  • I was beside myself when I interviewed Oprah (Oprah Winfrey). I was really hoping, "Please, please be this amazing, inspirational woman", and she was. I was so happy.
  • I think I've got the best job on TV - it covers everything from the latest on the crisis in Syria to Kim Kardashian's (Kim Kardashian) bottom!
  • When I first started out, even on TV-am (Good Morning Britain (1983)), we didn't have the internet or mobile phones. When we did a story it would probably be the first time you'd see it on air, because you didn't have 24-hour rolling news.
