Glen Keane's father is Bil Keane, creator of the newspaper comic The Family Circus, and the child Billy is based on Glen himself.

Father of Claire Keane, a visual development artist for Walt Disney Animation Studios and Max Keane, a computer graphics artist. He has two grandchildren.
