Vangelis Kazan was a Greek actor whose career spanned approximately fifty years across theater, television, and film. He studied acting at the Michailidis Drama School and made his stage debut in 1960, having appeared in film as early as 1953. Kazan frequently collaborated with renowned director Theodoros Angelopoulos.
He received critical acclaim, including a special honorary mention at the 14th Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1973 for his role in Lavete theseis (1973), and won Best Actor at the 1975 Thessaloniki Film Festival for Le Voyage des comédiens (1975) by Angelopoulos. In 1978, he was again honored with a special mention at the 19th Thessaloniki Festival for his performances in Ypothesi Polk (1978), I kangeloporta (1978), and I Hrysomallousa (1978). Besides acting, Kazan was also active in athletics, competing in running events.
