  • Karger also worked as a vocal coach at Columbia Pictures in 1948, where a young student-starlet of his named Marilyn Monroe fell in love with him. But he spurned Marilyn because he didn't think she would make a proper stepmother for his young son from an earlier marriage.
  • First wife Patti Sacks won a divorce from Karger after she testified in Superior Court that he knocked a Karl Marx book out of her hand, and told her he didn't want his wife to be more intelligent than him. Sacks was studying to be a lawyer at the time.
  • He passed away on the 17th anniversary of the death of his onetime paramour Marilyn Monroe; both died on August 5th.
