    • Ernst Karchow was born on September 23, 1892 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor, known for Lady Windermeres Fächer (1935), Gold (1934) and Patriotes (1937). He died on October 7, 1953 in Wilmersdorf, Berlin, Germany.

Trivia

  • German character actor and stage director of the 1930's and 40's, trained at the Max Reinhardt academy of the Deutschen Theater. On stage in Berlin and Vienna from 1919, in films from 1927.
  • After World War I he continued his acting career in Frankfurt in 1919, later followed engagements at different theaters in Berlin.
  • The actor Ernst Karchow learned his acting abilities at the acting school at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin.
  • Ernst Karchow was engaged for numerous support roles during the 30s and 40s and he acted together with many great stars of that time.
  • He made his stage debut before World War I but his career became interrupted when he served as a soldier from 1914 to 1918.
