Biography

    • Martin Kalwill has been acting in TV, films, theater and commercials for more than fifteen years. Originally from Argentina, his work has played at Festival De La Havana, the Berlin Film Festival and Sundance where "Un Crisantemo Estalla En Cinco Esquinas," featured him as a soul-searching Hassidic Jew lost in Latin America. His career at the international level began with his cinematic debut in "Alambrado" (Fenced In) directed by famous Italian director Marco Bechis. His work in that country continues with Marcello Mastroianni's "De Eso No Se Habla" (I Don't Want To Talk About It). IndieWIRE film critic Anthony Kaufman said another Kalwill film, A Chrysanthemum Burst in Cincoesquinas, began the "New Argentine Cinema" wave.

In 2000, Kalwill moved to Miami where he starred in numerous commercial spots on Spanish language television radio and prints. His background in circus performance led him to teach the arts on reality television. Ambition to reach a bigger audience led him to move to New York City in 2007.

In recent years he has appeared doing cameos and juggling in numerous New York productions such as Howl, Louis C.K., Morning Glory, Eat Pray Love, Salt, White Collar, An Englishman in New York, Oliver Stone's World Trade Center, Noah, among other movies.

In April 2014, Japanese Magazine Warp named Kalwill as one of it's "Coolest New Yorkers". On June DNAinfo.com posted a profile on him titled 'Circus Performer Juggles Met Opera Gig With Entertaining Park Crowds'.
