Two More Mad Max Sequels Will Eventually Happen, But It'll Be a Minute

A few years back Mad Max and The Road Warrior director George Miller unleashed the fourth entry in the Max Rockatansky saga with Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron as the mighty Imperator Furiosa. And today we have word from Miller himself that two Mad Max sequels are still in development, including a film centering on Charlize Theron's Furiosa.

Specifically, George Miller says about his planned Mad Max sequels that have been tentatively titled Wasteland and Furiosa.

"There are two stories, both involving Mad Max, and also a Furiosa story. It seems to be pretty clear that it's going to happen."

In the end, only the mad will survive when Mad Max: Fury Road arrives onto Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on September 1 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller ("Happy Feet") and starring Tom Hardy ("The Dark Knight Rises") in the title role and Oscar winner Charlize Theron ("Monster," "Prometheus") as Imperator Furiosa, Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth film in the franchise's epic history. Mad Max: Fury Road Surpasses $300 Million At Worldwide Box Office
Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ Mad Max: Fury Road is continuing to draw moviegoers around the globe, now surpassing $300 million at the worldwide box office. The announcement was made by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Directed, written and produced by George Miller, the feature marks the filmmaker’s return to the post-apocalyptic landscape of his iconic Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Domestically, the movie has held firm at the box office since its opening, earning $125.1 million to date.

The widely praised film is also still pulling in big crowds overseas, so far taking in an estimated $177 million at the international box office for a worldwide total of more than $302 million and counting.

New Mad Max Fury Road Movie Received Mostly Positive Reviews From Major Critics
Warner Bros. Pictures released their new action film, "Mad Max: Fury Road," into theaters today, May 15th,2015, and all the reviews have been submitted from the top,major critics. It turns out that it resonated extremely well with most of them, getting a whopping 89 score out of a possible 100 across 42 reviews at the Metacritic.com site. The summer is here, and with the arrival of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Jurassic World right around the corner, the heat is really kicking up. Still, no movie has had me as excited as Mad Max: Fury Road.

The trailers have been insane, and no movie in years has sold me so quickly with the theory of wild, adrenaline-rush like this one.

You’ve seen plenty in the trailers to get your mind racing, but the new set of images really give you a lot of information (I think) about how cool this really might be.

First Mad Max: Fury Road Trailer Explodes Online
Warner Bros. unveiled the first official trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, giving fans an explosive introduction to the upcoming reboot starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Sdcc attendees who stayed for the Warner Bros. panel were the first to see the new trailer but now we all get a chance to see the first footage from the highly-anticipated film from the director who brought us the franchise in the first place, George Miller.

“The film is going to be epic,” Jasin Boland, the photographer who took the production stills told the Sydney Morning Herald. “What [production designer] Colin Gibson and George have done creating that world is so exciting for people involved in the process. Mad Max: Fury Road Set for Additional Shooting this November
It's been over 8 months since production wrapped on George Miller's action sequel 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and we're all still wondering just where the hell is it? Well it appears that following its South African shoot there's now the requirement for an additional three weeks of shooting down under in Sydney, Australia which will begin on 22 November. Once cast as the Amazon warrior princess Wonder Woman in what was to be George Miller’s failed Justice League film, Megan Gale will finally get to team up with the director in Mad Max: Fury Road. Her role is unspecified at the moment, but we do have character names for a host of other roles, including that of Hugh Keays-Byrne, who was tapped to star as the Martian Manhunter alongside Gale.
