It’s not the best streamer when it comes to Christmas movies, but there are some hidden gems.
Like many relatively new streaming services, Peacock doesn’t have nearly the library of holiday films as some of the larger, more established platforms. However, it is not completely bereft of quality options. While I wouldn’t recommend subscribing to the NBCUniversal streamer specifically for its Christmas offerings, if you already have a subscription there is small, but eclectically interesting, group of holiday movies you can stream to keep you merry and bright through the end of the year.
Both the original “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and the animated remake “The Grinch” are available on Peacock; they even have a Grinch-themed Yule Log channel that you can put on in the background if you want to make sure that your holiday parties have a little tinge of mischief in the air.

Toni actress Jill Marie Jones left Girlfriends due to her contract ending and wanting to pursue movie opportunities. Toni's departure was written off by sending her to New York City to be close to her son. Jill Marie Jones regrets not announcing her departure sooner, but her co-stars respected her decision.
It's a bit of a surprise when Toni (Jill Marie Jones) suddenly leaves Girlfriends, considering how important a character she was to the hit sitcom, but Jones has her reasons. Girlfriends ran for 8 seasons before it ended in February 2008. In that time, the series followed the lives of four friends, Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross), Maya (Golden Brooks), Lynn (Persia White), and Toni (Jones).
Toni is Joan's oldest friend, with the two growing up together, and she considers herself the popular and "cute" one of the group. Though this can sometimes be read as shallow, she's a loving and loyal friend.

The early 2000s are a nostalgic time for television, whether audiences are watching shows like Friends or Gilmore Girls or sitting down for movies like Moulin Rouge! (2001) or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). The shows that appeared on cable and primetime changed the future of television.
Even with all the good television, there were certainly some problematic moments on television in the '90s and 2000s. While no show is perfect, that are some that continue to hold up, even among higher scrutiny.

Girlfriends was a groundbreaking sitcom featuring a diverse, all-Black cast that touched on difficult topics other shows avoided, proving the demand for diverse programming. The show's cancellation was due to low ratings and high licensing costs in an unusual business environment, not a reflection of its quality or importance in TV history. The cast had a heartwarming reunion on Black-ish, showcasing their incredible chemistry and the lasting impact of Girlfriends on both its audience and the actors themselves.
After nearly a decade of breaking new ground on the air, the beloved sitcom Girlfriends was canceled suddenly in 2008. Debuting in 2000, the series follows a group of Black women who bond over the trials and tribulations of daily life as they navigate the worlds of work and romance. Kelsey Grammer reveals that he'd really like to bring Girlfriends back. Created by Mara Brock Akil, and with the main cast featuring Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones, Girlfriends spanned eight seasons and ran from 2000 to 2008. The sitcom focused on the four women as they dealt with the changing tides of their professional and personal lives, garnering praise for the performances of its leads and attracting a slew of memorable guest stars — including Grammer, who cameoed as himself.
In an interview with E! News, Grammer discussed his hopes to bring the sitcom back. The star of Frasier was an executive producer on Girlfriends, and he opened up about the fact that the 2000s show is often on his mind. Grammer praised the cast and said that, with streaming services always looking to revive familiar properties, he'd love it if Girlfriends got the same treatment. He noted this was especially true,...

In the 25 years since she became the first Black lesbian to direct a feature film, the acclaimed “The Watermelon Woman,” Cheryl Dunye has lent her perspective to dozens of stories stretching across various genres on-screen. The NAACP Image Award-nominated director recently put her signature stamp on “Lovecraft Country’s” episode “Strange Case.” Now, she is lending her vision to OWN’s new series, “Delilah,” a legal drama centering Maahra Hill in the titular role as a lawyer trying to juggle her personal and professional lives.
Just as Delilah’s personal life begins to get more complicated she finds herself in the middle of a legal firestorm, facing off against her best friend, Tamara (Jill Marie Jones), for the first time in her career. Through her work on films like “Janine” and “Stranger Inside,” as well as her contributions to series like “All Rise,” “Dear White People,” and “Queen Sugar,” Dunye...

Close friendships are hard to find. Perhaps that’s why the established bond between besties Delilah (How to Get Away With Murder‘s Maahra Hill) and Tamara (Girlfriends‘ Jill Marie Jones) feels so believable in the Season 1 premiere of OWN’s new legal drama Delilah.
When Delilah’s ex-husband Gordon (Lyriq Bent) created drama and confusion at Maia’s violin recital, it was Tamara who ran interference so that the two wouldn’t argue in front of their kids. And all of those lunches and after-work dinners together really helped keep both attorneys grounded as they navigated the stresses of their day-to-day lives and careers.

To be clear, the OWN legal drama Delilah (Tuesdays, 9/8c) is not a Greenleaf spinoff. But, as executive producer Craig Wright says, the new series was born out of something he observed while making the soapy megachurch show he created.
“One of the things that I had really noticed during the five years of working on Greenleaf was that all the Black women I met, both involved in the process but also the fans, were all managing so many different parts of their lives and really holding it together for everybody,” Wright tells TVLine. “Black women are literally holding so many worlds together,...

In May of 2020, OWN announced its long-running drama “Greenleaf” would be coming to an end with its then-upcoming fifth season. Immediately, executive producer Craig Wright tells Variety, he and Oprah Winfrey began talking about what they wanted to do next.
“I said, just in passing, ‘If I could do anything, I would do a show about –‘ and I pitched her a show about a couple that were in the throes of dealing with grief after their child died. And the husband is locked in — he can’t connect with the wife in the wake of the daughter’s death — and she says, ‘You have to figure out something to do or we’re not going to make it.’ And he’s a writer and then what you would do is, you would enter into a TV show where you would see the life of a girl they lost, and it...
