    • Noel Johnson was born on December 28, 1916 in West Bromwich, West Midlands, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Frenzy (1972), Withnail et moi (1987) and Rien que pour vos yeux (1981). He was married to Leonora Johnson. He died on October 2, 1999 in Glamorgan, Wales, UK.

  • With the Royal Army Service Corps during World War II. Evacuated from Dunkirk. After a year in hospital, invalided out in 1941. Worked for the BBC Drama Repertory Company from 1945. Until 1949, was best known as the voice of special agent Dick Barton on radio. Resigned after he was refused a pay rise. His other well-known incarnation was as the voice of comic strip character Dan Dare on Radio Luxembourg (1951-56).
  • Was the first actor to play Dick Barton in the BBC Radio series of that name in the 1940s.
  • Acted in both the Eon James Bond franchise and the Doctor Who franchise (two roles).
