Former All-Star point guard for the Phoenix Suns.

Temporarily retired from the Phoenix Suns after the 1997-1998. Came back in 2000 after then-Suns guard Jason Kidd went down with an injury. Retired for good following the 1999-2000 season.

1989 NBA Most Improved Player.

Named to All-NBA second team 4 times (1989-1991 and 1994).

1992 All-NBA third team.

Holds NBA Finals single-game record for most minutes played - 62 (6/13/93 vs. Chicago, 3 OT).

In the '96-'97 season, he became the first player in NBA history to finish in the top three in both assists per game (9.3) and three-point field goal percentage (.441). He has since been joined in that regard only by John Stockton ('00-'01) and Steve Nash ('06-'07 and '07-'08).
