In the 1980s, he was one of the impressionists (together with Bill Wallis and Sheila Steafel) on the satirical BBC Radio 4 series "Week Ending".

(1972) He played "Acres" in Richard B. Sheridan's play, "The Rivals", at the Sadler's Wells Theatre in London, England with Maxine Audley, Anthony Sharp, Philip Bond and Anne Rutter in the cast. Malcolm Taylor was the director.

(March 2019) In 2019, David did a five part travel documentary called Planes, Trains and automobiles. He filmed it while traveling in the West Coast of America, from Seattle to Los Angeles, using a mixture of all three modes of transport. He even piloted an old World War 2 Dakota for a few minutes, something that was not unknown to him as he actually has a helicopter pilots licence.
