Biography

    • Jim Jarrett was the last teaching protégé of legendary acting teacher, Sanford Meisner. Now, a quarter century later, he is considered the most respected teacher of The Meisner Technique in the world. Over the past twenty-five years, Jarrett has directed hundreds of actors for theater, television, and feature films. He also works privately directing actors on their own projects as well as directing several of his own. His recent writing and directing credits include:

Vincent, Leonard Nimoy's one-man show is one of the most respected and successful touring productions in the world. Meisner, Jarrett's original full-length play premiered at San Francisco's historic Magic Theatre in 2007 and was a critical and commercial success. Jarrett has since adapted Meisner into a full-length feature film which he will also direct. Craft - set in the '50's this original series created by Jarrett is an inside look as actors go from unknowns to famous and the price they pay for that success. Meisner Trained, a weekly web series documenting Jarrett directing his students in The Meisner Technique. Table One, a web series written and directed by Jarrett.

Jarrett is also directing a weekly documentary in which he captures the experience of teaching actors The Meisner Technique. His partners are the eight-time Emmy-award winning producers, John Watkin and Eamon Harrington of Planet Grande Pictures.

In 2014, Jarrett established the JP Meisner Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to serving veterans and their families along with the underprivileged and under-served through the arts.

Jarrett also tours three shows he wrote for children - a powerful, few-holds-barred, rabble-rousing "commencement speech" titled Graduation Day, Manners Matter (K-5), and "The worst thing about me is..." (Middle School). All three shows have embarked on a nation-wide educational tour.

Jarrett is represented exclusively by Clint Mitchell, Senior Vice President at William Morris Endeavor.
