Jerry James was not born in Norfolk Virginia, but Sparta Wisconsin. He was one of the founding members of the Screen Actors Guild and was so honored in the Guild's 60th Anniversary ceremony. As well as the films listed, he danced in several RKO Fred Astaire films and remained close friend Mr. Astaire with him until Astaire's death. He also did many voice-overs, most notably in "Unconquered, " and "Samson and Delilah."
