Tom Jackson

Edit
  • He is a Métis. His father is of British nationality and his mother is Cree.
  • One of Jackson's best friends is actor Graham Greene. Since Greene has gone on record saying a role in Star Trek would be one of his dream acting parts, it is interesting that Jackson would get there first with a guest-starring role on Star Trek: the Next Generation.
  • He was awarded the O.C. (Officer of the Order of Canada) on October 21, 1999 for his services to Canada.
  • Appointed the tenth Chancellor of Trent University in Peterborough, ON. His term runs from July 1st, 2009 to June 30th 2012.
  • He grew up in Namao, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
  • He would host the annual Christmas musical production "Huron Carole" which raised donations for foodbanks throughout Canada. It lasted from 1987 to 2004 and again in 2012 and 2013.
  • In the 1990s was one of the driving forces behind a short-lived Arts and Media Club venture in Calgary, Canada.
