Manuel Fraga in Franco on Trial: The Spanish Nuremberg? (2018)
After the success of Franco's Settlers, their first film about the dictatorship, Post and Palacios now tackle one of the most undisclosed chapters of European history: the allegedly organized extermination that took place in Spain under General Franco's fascist dictatorship. To this day no one has been prosecuted for the regime's systematic atrocities. In 2010 victims filed a complaint in Buenos Aires, known as Querella Argentina. By now 24 international arrest warrants have been issued. Franco on Trial puts the Argentinian Complaint in its historic and judicial context by asking will a possible Argentinian trial become the Spanish Nuremberg? As in Franco's Settlers the filmmakers manage to talk both with the victims and the perpetrators.
