Born Jorge Infante Biggs on 10 January, 1897 in Concepción, Chile. He studied at the Liceo de Concepción (today Enrique Molina) and then moved to Santiago. His first film as an actor was by Carlos Borcosque, Hombres de esta tierra (1922) which turned him into a silent film star in Chile. Then he starred in Traición (1923) and Martín Rivas (1925) for the same director. In 1923 he moved to France, returning to Chile in 1934 where he made his last work, the documentary "Cien años del carbón en Lota" (1953). At the end of his days he dedicated himself to sculpture receiving multiple awards for his work. Known for Martín Rivas (1925) and Hombres de esta tierra (1922)

Addenda : Parallel to his acting career, he worked for the Chilean diplomatic service in France, taking profit of the chance to study sculpture there. There he met Adelqui Migliar and appeared in his picture Le navire aveugle (1927) (in which Josephine Baker also had a role). Through his connections he became supervisor and director for Spanish versions of Paramount films at Joinville, acting alongside Carlos Gardel in Las luces de Buenos Aires (1931) before returning to his homeland and focusing on sculpture.
