W. Peter Iliff in '09
This reel is one of the international trailers that Jordan Levine at Stampede cut for Voltage.

I had a dream of shooting a film. So I personally raised the cash, assembled the production team that included Mark Canton, and made this darkly comic pop thriller for a total of $2.6M. The film is an homage to my crazy years at UCSB. The spend was pretty much divided in thirds; cast / principal photography / post production. We shot the film at the gorgeous and spooky Santa Barbara seaside rose ranch of my college buddy (producer / co-writer) Rick Halsey. This allowed us to set up a base camp and shoot the hell out of the rose ranch and neighboring Isla Vista. We shot five 5-day weeks -- with two additional days during post that included the amazing "driving the wrong way down the 101 freeway at night" sequence, which was shot with a crew of 10 people and their own cars on the taxi way at Lompoc airport. Great lesson in guerrilla filmmaking! The critics hammered us, the Chumash protested us, and we lost our shirts -- but I hope some of you enjoy it as much as we did making it. -p
