- Ilic was born in Belgrade, where his father, Mihailo Ilic - a Yugoslav movie director, was banned and prisoned during the Tito regime. He attended elementary school in the Karaburma suburb of Belgrade, and other various elementary schools and high schools in Belgrade. His breakthrough in the media came as a singer and actor in the Yugoslav movie "Something in Between" in 1983.
