K.L Rahul's 74 in vain as India lose second practice match to Western Australia XI by 36 runs
Image
Perth, Oct 13 (Ians) Opener K.L Rahul made 74 off 55 balls, but his efforts went in vain as India lost their second practice match to Western Australia XI by 36 runs at Waca Stadium on Thursday.

After Western Australia XI made 168/6 in their 20 overs, India could get only 132/8 in 20 overs, with Rah’l’s 74 comprising nine fours and two sixes. The next best score in India’s innings, in which Rohit Sharma (though he was the captain), Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav did not bat, was 17 by Hardik Pandya and 10 by Dinesh Karthik.

Electing to bowl first, Josh Phillippe was taken out early by Arshdeep Singh on a pitch that had some bounce. D’Arcy Short (52 off 38 balls) and Nick Hobson (64 off 41 balls) shared a partnership of exactly 100 runs, where the duo took the spinners to the cleaners.

The century stand was broken when Short was run-out and Hobson soon followed after holing out in the deep.

Suryakumar, Arshdeep star in India defeating Wa XI by 13 runs in first practice game

Perth, Oct 10 (Ians) Suryakumar Yadav and Arshdeep Singh were the star performers for India in defeating Western Australia XI by 13 runs in the first practice match at the Waca Stadium on Monday.

After making 158/6 in their 20 overs, with Suryakumar top-scoring with 52 off 35 balls, hitting three fours and as many sixes, Western Australia XI were reduced to 11/4 in 2.5 overs, with Arshdeep and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picking two wickets each.

21-year-old San Fanning tried to take Western Australia XI to an improbable win with 53-ball 59, hitting five fours and a six. But with him becoming Arshdeep’s third scalp of the match in the 17th over, India managed to come out with a win.

In India’s first practice match, talismanic batter Virat Kohli, Kl Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t take part, with Rishabh Pant opening the batting alongside captain Rohit Sharma.

Electing to bat first, Sharma struggled against Jason Behrendorff and...

When Robbie (Jake Croker) returns to the town where he was once implicated in the death of a classmate it’s not long before another student dies. Detective John Elliot (Vinnie Jones) begins to suspect Robbie as being to blame, especially when...

He goes to work, and he and his partner Reg find a truck that hadn’t been properly logged out on their forms. They go to investigate, and David encounters a young girl, scared and speaking Serbian. He finds out her name is Anja, and deduces that she came from the truck. Here’s where things take off.

David opens the truck,...
