Frank Hurley was born on 15 October 1885 in Glebe, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He was a director and cinematographer, known for The Hound of the Deep (1926), Jungle Woman (1926) and The Official Film of the Mawson Antarctic Expedition (1949). He was married to Antoinette Rosalind Leighton. He died on 16 January 1962 in Collaroy Plateau, New South Wales, Australia.
