Cousin of Ned Nalle.

Was the co-founder of the nonprofit organization Reading Glass Project, which asks travelers to Third World countries to purchase reading glasses from RGP and give them to local folks in need. The initiative has benefited thousands of people.

Attended the Springside School in Philadelphia and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

After a bout with breast cancer, Hunsicker created the 2006 book Turning Heads: Portraits of Grace, Inspiration, and Possibilities, which featured photos of women who were bald from chemotherapy doing what they loved. The portraits were taken by top photographers in the country.
